‘At 50mph I enter the first bend and in an instant my view out of the window is at a sharp angle. As the circuit curves to the  left ahead of me I can't see anything but a wall of road – no horizon, no trees, nothing, just a never ending track. I quickly sneak a look up, out of my window, and I see only sky while the other side reveals nothing but grey, unforgiving tarmac.’
