Jaguar World, Jaguar XF SV8 vs Audi S6, February 2009
‘Suddenly, the normally docile XF is more difficult to rein in the revs have been built up to the point that it sounds like the engine is going to explode and it only takes a tiny squeeze of the accelerator to shoot the car forward with a ferocity that pushes all the organs at the front of your body to the back. The acceleration is blistering, savage even. Meanwhile, the cabin is filled with a deep, fearsome growl that only a V8 can produce before the high-pitched whine of the supercharger takes over, sounding more like a supersonic jet and feeling like one too. I haven't heard or seen this kind of firepower since America's 2003 'shock and awe' bombardment of Iraq.’
