Rare Survivor
Jaguar World, Jaguar XJR-S convertible, February 2010
‘When enough torque has finally been summoned via the three-speed auto 'box, the car suddenly becomes the motoring equivalent of Usain Bolt, accelerating hard and fast, pushing you into your seat with the same force as a grand piano resting on your chest. No performance figures were ever published for this prototype, but it's mid-range, 50-80mph urge feels not to dissimilar to a 4.2-litre XK convertible. So, fast then.’
